HOMEWORK POLICY

Homework is a very important link between the school and the home. It helps to keep parents in touch and involved in their children’s work. Homework should be a revision and consolidation of work done in school. Where homework is taking excessive time or distress, parents should contact the class teacher.

  • It is important for the child to establish a set routine and time each day for doing homework away from distraction

  • Parents should check and sign the homework journal each evening.

  • Reading is a very important part of homework. Parents should also spend time reading to their child each evening.

  • Homework will not be issued to children who are absent through illness or on holidays.

  • Homework will be issued from Monday to Thursday. No homework is issued on Friday’s.

  • Homework will not be given to children on their birthdays.

  • Three homework free weeks will occur during the school year.

  • For the last week of each term no written homework will be issued.
