  • We appeal to parents to continue to be vigilant if your child is displaying any of the symptoms below and not to send children to school if they are unwell.

Common Covid symptoms include:

Fever

Cough

Tiredness

Loss of taste or smell

Less common symptoms include:

Sore throat

Headache

Aches and pains

Diarrhoea

A rash on skin

Red or irritated eyes

If your child is displaying any of the above symptoms please keep them at home and ring your GP for advice. Please be aware we cannot identify any individual who tests positive but we will send a text to the class in question.

  • New guidelines regarding antigen testing in schools are being introduced by November 29th. We are awaiting an update from the HSE and will send on the information to parents as soon as we receive it.
  • Please return eyesight and hearing forms distributed to Junior and Senior Infants.
  • This week is a no homework week to coincide with the bookfair.
  • The bookfair has arrived...children have seen the books and can buy books this week up to and including Thursday. This is a great way of restocking our school library as the school receives 60% of the total spent in books.
  • Photographs have been distributed and can be ordered on line or money can be dropped into the school before Monday, November 22nd. After tomorrow they can be only ordered online.
  • Our Greenschools committee are running a competition to co-incide with a 'day of action' on December 3rd. Children are invited to make a piece of art using recycled materials. It must be based on the theme of 'Global Citizenship and waste' Ideas could include models of buildings, statues, animals or flags from another country. Entries must be in by December 1st.
  • AGM for Westside Community games takes place in Imaal Hall on Tuesday, November 23rd at 7pm. For Westside Community Games to continue next year a new committee needs to be formed. Please spread the word as it would be a shame if the club could not continue.
