Newsletter September 9th 2024
- Our Junior Infants have settled in well and will continue to go home at 12.00 until Friday. From Monday next 16th they will go home at 1.40.
- If you are not receiving emails or have moved house or changed email or phone no. since last year, could you please contact the school office at 401495 to update your details?
- As children have now settled well back into school we would ask that all parents remain at the front of the school and not gather on the school yard at the back. If for any reason you need to contact the class teacher, please do so by coming to the front door and ringing the bell.
- County Photos will be in the school on Friday 27th September to photograph the children. Proofs of the photos will be distributed to each family who can then decide if they want to purchase them.
- Please note that parent teacher meetings for children from Senior Infants – 6th will take place on 27/28 November. Junior Infant meetings will take place on 5/6 February.
- Guitar lessons with music generation will start on Tuesday September 24 We have a new guitar teacher, Frankie Lane. Piano lessons with Fiona Meleady will start on Tuesday 17th September. These lessons should be paid for in advance and can be paid in two instalments, one at the start and one after Christmas.
- We would ask all children to have a coat with them as they will be going out at breaktimes unless the rain is very heavy. We would also ask that any children that want to play football from 1st – 6th, bring a change of shoes and change of bottoms with them from now on as ground will be getting mucky.
- U 11 Gaelic football training for boys in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes continues this Monday 9th after school. This is for any boys who hadn’t turned 11 before Jan 1 2024.Training will end at 3.45p.m. The first match is next Tuesday September 17th in St. Lawerence’s GAA club v Crookstown at 11am. If any parents are available to drive, please contact the school office.
- Hurling training for 4/5/6 will take place every Tuesday after school until 3.45pm.
- Basketball will start for 2/3/6 classes and Solas senior this week. Speech and Drama lessons for senior infants,3/4/Solas will start on September 18th. These lessons must be paid for and are included in the school charges..Vocal music lessons with music generation for 2/3/4/5/6 will begin shortly. If payment is not received we will assume that you do not want your child to take part in the lessons. As always if anyone has any problems please contact Michael Moran in confidence.

Drama €35 (all classes)
Basketball €10 (1st – 6th)
Vocal music lessons €33 (2nd-6th)
- All school fee payments must be paid in an envelope with the child’s name written on the outside and an indication of what the fees are covering also written on the outside of the envelope. Receipts will be issued for all payments. Payment can also be made online at the following BIC and IBAN. Please reference your child’s name if you are paying by this method.

- Kevin’s Community College Open Evening will take place on Thursday 19th September at 7pm.
- 12th Wicklow Scouts are holding a registration night on Thursday 12th September at 7am in Imaal Hall. All welcome. Three sections

Scouts Ages 12+
Regular meetings are on a Thursday evening and there will be weekend hikes and camps
