- County photographers will photograph each child in the school this Friday September 26th. Junior and Senior Infants will be in their tracksuits and we would ask that all other classes wear their school uniform that day. Proofs of photos will be sent to each family but there is no obligation to purchase photos. If you do wish to buy the photos details will be sent with proofs.
- Well done to our U11 footballers who drew with St. Lawrence’s school last week. They play Athgarvan this Tuesday in Athgarvan at 11.30am. Please remind children to bring their gear and gum shields. If you are available to drive please let your child know or contact the school office. We will leave the school at 10.45.
- Our 3rd and 4th class boys and girls took part in a football blitz last Friday in Baltinglass. Each team played two games and played very well.
- Could we remind all children to have coats with them and please make sure all items of clothing are labelled.
- Congratulations and thank you to Kay and James Grattan who completed a sky dive in aid of Solas on Sunday. Donations can still be made at the link below.

- We would kindly ask that no children or parents enter the school grounds through either car park in the interests of safety.
- Reminder that the school is closed next Monday September 29th.
- There will be no football training this Tuesday after school as we have a match earlier in the day.
- Speech and Drama lessons started last Wednesday. These cost €35 and this is included as part of the school charges. This cost must be paid if you wish your child to attend. A final reminder will be sent tomorrow to anyone with outstanding charges. As always please contact Michael Moran in confidence if anyone has any problem.
- The PA association will hold their AGM on Wednesday October 1st in Scoil Niocláis Naofa. If you are not already involved, this is a great way to meet people and find out what is going on in the school.

- Please see a copy of our healthy eating policy below. We are currently in the process of tendering for hot school meals. After consulting with the various companies it seems that hot meals will not be in place until after Christmas at the earliest. In the meantime we would ask that our healthy eating policy is observed.

HEALTHY EATING POLICY
- Following input by parents and staff our school recommends the items below as part of our healthy eating policy:
- To ensure good overall health children should go to bed at an appropriate time. They should have a proper breakfast daily which should include a cereal. Regular brushing of teeth should take place and children should be encouraged to participate in physical exercise.
- In order to help the school environment we ask that all lunch wrappings and leftovers are brought home each day in the child’s school bag. We would also recommend that a re-usable easily opened drink container be used i.e. plastic bottle.
- Each Friday children are permitted to bring one small treat to school e.g. fruit cake or bun
- Recommended lunches
- Fruit/raw carrots/celery sticks/cherry tomatoes/fruit bags
- Sandwiches/rolls/baps/crackers/rice cakes/wraps
- Cold meat/tuna/salmon
- Egg/cheese (preferably not grated)/cheese slices/cheese strings
- Yoghurts/creamed rice
- Plain yogurts (fresh fruit)
- (Please ensure that your child has a spoon for yoghurt)
- Home produce
- Water/Milk
- Banned Foods
- Chewing gum/fizzy drinks/bars/crisps/popcorn/peanuts/sweets/chocolate spreads/ peanut butter /nuts/frubes
