Newsletter September 1st 2025
- All has gone very well so far in our return to school. Many thanks to all the parents and children who have observed and respected the guidelines put in place by the school while the building works are ongoing. - Our Junior Infants have made a great start and have settled in very well. Junior Infants will go home at 12 noon each day until Friday September 12th. From Monday September 15th they will go home at 1:40pm. Senior Infants will finish at 1:40pm with all other classes finishing at 2:40pm. We start school at 9am.
- Parents from Junior Infants should accompany their child to the outside door. We would ask that from Monday September 1st that those parents drop their child at the outside door where the class teacher will meet them and bring their child to class.
- Parents from Senior Infants may also bring their children to the outside door of their classroom.
- Children from all other classes will walk around the St. Kevin’s side of the school each morning where they will line up on the yard when the bell goes. We would ask that no parents go to the back of the school in the mornings as work will be ongoing on the building. Until the building is complete parents are not permitted to enter the school building and should make an appointment if they wish to speak to the principal/teacher.
- While building works are being completed children will not be allowed on the premises before 8.50.
- PLEASE NOTE THAT FOOTBALL WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE MORNINGS BEFORE SCHOOL AT THE MOMENT WHILE BUILDERS ARE STILL ON SITE.
- We need to update our school database and in particular need to add an email address for each family. Christine will contact any family that we don’t have an email address for. If you have changed your mobile phone number in the last few months please let us know the new number. It is vital that we are able to contact families at short notice during the year.
- We have a list of children with allergies and this information would have been included when you filled in the enrolment form. If there have been any recent diagnosis of allergies please inform Christine in the office on 045401495.
- The main closures for the year ahead are available on our website under the calendar tab. A calendar will be attached to this newsletter but won’t include dates for Confirmation or Communion as we do not have them yet.
- Please note that there is no longer a clothes bank on the school grounds. Under NO circumstances should clothes or rubbish be left at the school.
- Can we remind all parents about the importance of having their child in school each day unless they are sick? Once a child is absent for 20 days we are obliged to notify TUSLA who may follow up on the absences. It is also extremely important that children are in school at 9 o’ clock as being late means they miss out on vital morning activities.
- Uniforms should be worn each day except for PE days. Your child will be informed of their PE day in due course.
- All school payments must be paid online or in an envelope with the child’s name written on the outside and an indication of what the fees are covering also written on the outside of the envelope. Receipts will be issued for all payments. Online payments can be made at the following BIC and IBAN. Please reference your child’s name if you are paying by this method.

- County Photos will be in the school on Friday 26th September to photograph the children. Proofs of the photos will be distributed to each family who can then decide if they want to purchase them.
- U 11 Gaelic football training for boys in 4thand 5th classes will start this Tuesday 2nd September after school and ending at 3.45. Players must be born after Jan 1st Players with a 2013 birthday are over age.
