  • Junior infants will finish at 1.40 from this Monday 15th. As children have now settled well back into school we would ask that all parents of infants encourage their children to walk in from the door by themselves.
  • Stationery has been purchased for Junior and Senior Infants by the school. This was due for payment by August 31st. There are still some outstanding amounts. A reminder text has been sent to relevant families.
  • Reminder that school is closed on Monday September 29th.
  • Please note that we have been informed that the school will close on Friday 24th October to facilitate the Presidential Election.
  • A massive thank you to Stephen Ward Electrical for sponsoring the homework diaries for the school.
  • Please note that there is no longer a clothes bank in the school. Clothing/rubbish should not be dropped on school grounds under any circumstances.
  • A reminder that parents are not permitted to park/drop children in school carparks. This applies to secondary school pick ups also.
  • County Photos will visit the school on Friday September 26th to photograph the children. Proofs of photos will be sent to each family but there is no obligation to purchase photos. If you do wish to buy the photos details will be sent with proofs.

  • Please note that parent teacher meetings for children for Senior Infants, 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th will take place on the 26th and 27th of November. Meetings for 2nd class will take place on 19th and 20th Junior Infant meetings will take place on the 4th and 5th of February
  • The U11 boys football team have a match this Tuesday in Dunlavin against St. Lawrence’s Crookstown at 10.30 am.
  • Reminder to parents to ensure your child’s (ren’s) names are on all items of clothing. A number of jumpers/tops have already been misplaced.
  • Open Night for St. Kevin’s Community College takes place on Thursday September 18th at 7pm.
  • Please make sure that each child has a coat for going outside. Umbrellas are not allowed on the yard for health and safety reasons
  • Speech and Drama will start for Senior Infants /1st/2nd/3rd classes and Solas this week. These lessons cost €35. Vocal music lessons for classes 2nd to 6th also begin this week. These lessons cost €33. Payment is required before children attend. As always if anyone has any problems please contact Michael Moran in confidence.

Please note that these amounts are part of the school charges so are covered if charges have already been paid.

  • We would ask that money for school charges be placed in an envelope with the child’s name written on the outside. Receipts will be issued for all payments. Payment can also be made online at the following BIC and IBAN. Please reference your child’s name if you are paying by this method.

  • School Caretaker for Scoil Niocláis Naofa

Applications are sought for the position of caretaker for Scoil Niocláis Naofa, Dunlavin, W91YY22.

The position is for three days a week with hours of work 9.00 to 2.40.

The successful applicant may on occasion be required outside of these hours by local arrangement.

The duties will involve general maintenance of the school and its surroundings. This will include hedge cutting, general repairs, window cleaning, dealing with waste collections, erection of notice boards etc. This list is not exhaustive.
