Well done to our U11 footballers who defeated Nurney last Thursday in their final league game. That was the last game in the league and they have now qualified for the semi final this Tuesday in Dunlavin at 11am V Ballycane.

The Parents Association AGM took place last week. Thanks to all the parents that were present and to all parents that are a continual support to our school.

Thanks to all the parents who drive the children to matches. Without your help it would not be possible to take part in so many activities.

The annual Cumann na mBunscoil Cross Country event will take place in Valleymount on October 14th. 4 boys and 4 girls will be chosen from each class this week to represent the school. Children that are going are asked to wear their school tracksuit and white polo shirt and runners. They can wear shorts under their tracksuit if they wish to run in shorts. Lunch should be brought in a separate bag. Each child is asked to bring €5 for the bus.

Final call for nasal flu vaccine forms. These were emailed to all families and can be returned online or to the school office before Tuesday.

As you can see the work around the school is progressing. As the front of the school is now open, children will be able to leave through both walking gates at the road. Ms. Smullen’s first class will exit through the gate nearest the playground from Monday. We would ask all children to stay off the grass as it has been reseeded. Children still have to wait at the gate in the mornings as the builders are still working on site. They will not be allowed on the grounds before 8.50am. If Parents need to come to the school to collect children they can now come to the front door.

We would ask all parents to refrain from parking in school car parks, or in the bus bay in the morning or evening. There is a wheelchair accessible space in the small car park if it is needed. We would also ask parents not to drive into the car parks to turn or let children out.

We would also ask you to remind children not to exit the school grounds through either car park or over the wall for their own safety

We would like to remind parents about any outstanding school charges. If there is any difficulty please contact the principal.School payments can be made in cash, by cheque or by on line payment as per details below
