Newsletter October 23rd 2023
- This week is a reading week so there will be no written homework.
- We will have a no uniform day this coming Friday in aid of the Imaal hall roof fund. We are very lucky to have access to the Imaal hall on wet days for basketball etc.
- A pop up cinema came to Scoil Niocláis Naofa last Friday night. A big thank you to the Parents’ association for organising the Halloween Movie Night. The funds raised will go towards providing interactive boards for the two remaining classrooms in the school that have still to be equipped.
- Reminder that any outstanding ballot papers for the role of Parents’ nominee to the Board of Management must be returned by 3pm next Tuesday October 24th. Ballot papers received after this time will not be considered.
- We are having an online safety day on Thursday November 9th for classes from 3rd – 6th. There will also be a talk for parents starting at 2.30.
- The school will close on Friday October 27th at normal school times for Halloween. We will reopen on Monday 6th
- The annual Cumann na mBunscoil Cross Country event took place in Valleymount last Tuesday. Well done to all the boys and girls that took part and did so well.
- Each year we support the Team Hope Shoebox appeal. A shoebox is filled with small gifts for a child in a developing country. If anyone fills a shoe box it can be returned to the school for collection.
- Proofs of photos from County Photos were sent home with the children last week. Details of available packages are in the envelopes. These can be ordered online or through the school office. The photographer still has to return to photograph some children that were not done on the day. We will send out a date for that as soon as we get one.
- This is fire safety week. Classes will do some lessons on fire safety and we will hold a fire drill during the week.
- We would ask all parents to refrain from parking in either school car park, or in the bus bay in the morning or evening. We would also ask you to remind children not to exit the school grounds through either car park for their own safety.
- School payments can be made in cash, by cheque or by on line payment as per details below:
