NEWSLETTER – Monday 11th November 2019

  • This is a No homework week in school. No homework will be issued by any teacher this week.
  • Any orders for photographs must be sent in to the school by this Friday November 15th.
  • Many thanks for your donation of €197 towards the Green Schools Non Uniform day appeal.
  • This week we are holding a Halloween Costume Swap. On Thursday children are invited to bring in their no longer wanted Halloween costume and hopefully they will be able to exchange it in school. The swap will take place from 1.20pm to 2.20pm. Thanks to parents Antoinette Whelan and Magda Drahuse for facilitating this.
  • Douglas is looking for Altar servers from 3rd to 6th class. If anyone is interested they should give their name to Ciara Moran in 6th class by this Friday November 15th.
  • We will not be taking anymore orders for Folens Annuals.
  • Piano lessons for this week will take place tomorrow Tuesday November 12th but will resume on Wednesdays from next week. Guitar lessons take place on Wednesday as normal this week.
  • The school Book Fair arrives on Thursday November 21st. We hope to encourage the children to read more during this period and will not issue any written homework for the week starting Monday November 25th.
  • The Tag Rugby blitz for 5th/6th classes was called off last week due to poor weather conditions. It is hoped to reschedule the blitz for some day in the coming weeks.
  • A reminder re outstanding school fees will be sent home tomorrow.
  • Tusla have encouraged schools to join its ‘Every Day Counts’ school attendance campaign. Our school has signed up to this and we have attached a suggestions sheet which Tusla encourages families to take note of.
