  • Sadly we have all been made aware that our school will not reopen for this school year. We had hoped that there might be some time allocated in June or July to allow children return but this will not now happen. These are truly exceptional times and both parents and children deserve great credit for the way they have embraced homeschooling and all that goes with it. Please find updated suggested work on our website
  • There is great disappointment for the children in 2nd and 6th classes regarding First Holy Communion and Confirmation. We were informed by the Diocese last week that neither will go ahead this school year. We do not know how or when they will take place but we will inform those classes if we hear anything in that regard.
  • The school will be open today from 10:30-12 noon in case parents wish to access any books, copies or even clothes the children might have left in the class. We will open the school at regular intervals over the coming weeks so don’t worry if you cannot call in today.
  • A number of decisions regarding school dates , booklists, class teachers etc for the coming year will be made over the coming weeks and we will inform parents as soon as these decisions are made. We hope to hold the induction day for Junior Infants in July and will inform all concerned when that has been fixed.
  • Confirmation for 6th class was due to take place on Thursday May 14 and we will organise a Zoom meeting that day for the children. Details will be sent to all the class next week. We will organise a Zoom meeting for 2nd class on Friday May 22. Carrie Lidierth will finish up as class teacher for 1st class on Friday May 29 with Lindsey Quinlan returning from maternity leave on June 8. We will hold a Zoom meeting for 1st class on the 29th to allow children bid farewell to Carrie and to welcome Lindsey.
  • Anyone wishing to contact the school should do so via the website or by emailing
  • A draft Admissions Policy has been posted on the school website. If anyone wishes to make a comment on it please do so by email.
  • Standardised tests in Maths and English will not take place this school year. We will consider our options in this regard when we return in September.
  • Families might be interested in checking out some exercise activities for home on the website Check out the Active Home Week tab.
  • Oxford Reading Tree are providing free access to their books with stages suitable for all classes. There is an audio option also so childrencan hear the story being read to them. Please register on
