  • Birdwatch Ireland have donated two swift boxes to the school and they have been put in place near the apex of the roof in Solas. Swifts are amazing birds who fly to Ireland non stop from South Africa each summer. Our thanks to Maura Greene and David O’Hara for their involvement.
  • Next week is a week off home schooling from June 1-5. Work will be issued for the two weeks of June 8-19 and that will conclude the home schooling….hopefully forever. Our sincere thanks to all the families for their commitment, endeavour and efforts over these times.
  • Blessington Book Store have announced that they will be taking orders for school books over the coming weeks. They had previously announced that they would be closing but have managed to obtain a new premises in Blessington and will take orders online at Parents can then collect the books at a later date.
  • Booklists will available on the school website by midweek and will also be issued with school reports in mid June.
  • The meeting for new Junior Infants and their parents will take place on Saturday July 11. All families were notified this week.

  • The school is open from 10-12 noon today and will be open on Monday June 8 at the same times. We will ask parents to return book rentals and readers they may have borrowed over the past weeks during that week of June 8.
  • Carrie Lidierth will finish up as class teacher for 1st class next Friday. She has replaced Lindsey Quinlan who returns from maternity leave on June 8. We will hold a zoom meeting for the children in 1st class on Friday next May 29. We will send a text with the zoom details to those families this week. Our sincere thanks to Carrie for all the work she has done with the class over the past months. She will be missed.
  • No decisions on class teachers for the coming year will be made until late July as we need to establish replacements for retiring staff.
  • Thanks to all those who contacted the school re Music Generation lessons for the coming year. We will now book teachers based on those responses.
