NEWSLETTER – Monday 4th March 2024

  • Our 3rd and 4th class girls will take part in a football blitz in Dunlavin this Thursday at 11am.
  • We would ask all parents to talk to their children in relation to crossing the road at the traffic lights. We had a near miss last week when a child was dropped at the set down area on the Green side and ran straight across the road close to the playground entrance.
  • All classes began a new initiative “Run Around Europe” last week. All classes are challenged to build a 10 minute “Run a Day” into their daily routines across the 4 weeks of the challenge. Working together as a class and a school the combined kms will bring the children to many of the capital cities of Europe. Each class can decide which capital city they would like to visit. Laps of the court can be completed by walking or running. Teacher and SNA laps will be counted too!!!
  • There are a small number of families with outstanding school charges. These charges cover items such as drama, basketball, personal accident insurance, art and craft materials etc. We would appeal to families to pay the outstanding amount by March 22nd. If you have any difficulty paying, please contact Michael in confidence. A letter will be issued this week with the balance outstanding to families.
  • Reminder that the school will be closed this Friday March 8th for a referendum.
  • Could we remind everyone that dog walking is not allowed on the school grounds at any time in the interest of health and safety for our children.
  • If anyone still has a survey from the parents’ association in relation to mobile phones, could they please return them by this Wednesday.
  • 5th and 6th class began a Marathon Kids programme last week.
