NEWSLETTER – Monday 3rd March 2025

  • Our 3rd and 4th class boys took part in a football blitz in Baltinglass last Friday. Well done to them and thanks to parents for driving.
  • A big thank you to everyone who supported the Parents Association table quiz on Friday last. Thanks to the sponsors, those that donated raffle prizes and all who took part. A special thank you to the members of the Parents Association for making the night a huge success and to Alan Kealy for preparing the questions and for acting as MC on the night. Over €3000 was raised and this money will be used to help reline the yard in due course.
  • We would ask all parents to talk to their children in relation to crossing the road at the traffic lights. We would also request that parents DO NOT drop children or park in the bus bay in the morning or evenings.
  • There will be girl’s Gaelic football training after school each Monday for girls in 4th,5th and 6th class. It will finish at 3.45 each Monday.
  • Boy’s Gaelic training will take place each Tuesday after school for boys in 4th, 5th and 6th It will end at 3.45 each Tuesday.
  • Hurling training takes place each Wednesday with Mr. Byrne.
  • There are a small number of families with outstanding school charges. These charges cover items such as drama, basketball, personal accident insurance, art and craft materials etc. If you have any difficulty paying, please contact Michael in confidence.
  • Could we remind everyone that dog walking is not allowed on the school grounds at any time in the interest of health and safety for our children.
  • Please note that the school will close at 12 on Friday March 14th to facilitate staff inservice on the new Bí Cinéalta guidelines.
  • As this Wednesday is Ash Wednesday, children will be offered blessed ashes. Please let your child’s class teacher know if you don’t want your child to receive ashes.
  • Thanks to everyone for filling out the questionnaires to help us work towards our Bí Cinéalta Policy. We will issue the results of the survey next week.
  • World book day is on the 6th All children have received vouchers towards the purchase of a book. The student council have organised a book swap to mark World book day. If children have books they are finished with and would like to swap, they should bring them to school before this Thursday.
  • Children in 1st,2nd and 3rd classes will complete NNRIT tests (Non reading Intelligence tests) this week.

Disco night in aid of Crookstown Millview Athletics 14th March 2025, 7pm - 9pm. Imaal Hall Dunlavin. Tickets €10. 2nd to 6th class. All schools welcome. Tuck shop on the night.
