Newsletter March 24th
School will close at 12 on Friday April 11th for Easter and will reopen on Monday April 28th.
We would ask that all hearing test forms for Junior Infants and any children who have joined the school since September 2024 be returned to the school office by this Monday March 24th.
All children from 1st class upwards have a homework journal. The homework journal allows parents and teachers to communicate and is a good connection between home and school. We would ask all parents to sign their child’s homework each night and write a note if their child is absent for any reason.
While we know that birthdays are a very special time for children, we would kindly ask that cakes and treats are not sent into school for birthdays as some children have allergies and may react to some ingredients in the cakes/treats. We do not allow birthday invitations to be given out in school as this often causes upset in a class.
We would like to sincerely thank all the parents that drive children to matches and other extra- curricular events. Your support is greatly appreciated. We would also ask that parents do not stop at shops on the way back from events as it puts an unfair financial pressure on those that are driving.
Well done to our 5th and 6th class boys’ football team that took part in a blitz in Dunlavin last Friday.
Please ensure your child has their uniform on each day apart from PE days and has a coat as we will be going out for break times unless rain is torrential.
All classes took part in a ceolchoirm and céilí for Seachtain na Gaeilge last week. See pictures attached.
Our 5th and 6th class boys and girls took part in the FAI 5 a side soccer tournament last Wednesday in Blessington. Both teams played extremely well and were unlucky to be beaten at the semi-final stage.
Reminder: First Penance for First Holy communion Children will take place in St. Nicholas of Myra Church on Tuesday 8th April at 7pm.
