Newsletter March 19th

School will close at 12 on Friday March 22nd for Easter and will reopen on Monday April 8th.

We would like to sincerely thank all the parents that drive children to matches and other extra- curricular events. Your support is greatly appreciated. We would also ask that parents do not stop at shops on the way back from events as it puts an unfair financial pressure on those that are driving.

Please ensure your child has their uniform on each day apart from PE days and has a coat as we will be going out for break times unless rain is torrential.

Drama takes place on Wednesday and Thursday for Solas, Senior Infants, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes.

All classes took part in a ceolchoirm for Seachtain na Gaeilge last week. See pictures attached.

Reminder: any outstanding school charges are due by this Friday. Please contact Michael Moran in confidence if there are any payment issues.

Well done to our boys 5 a side soccer teams that took part in the FAI 5 a side tournament in Greystones last Wednesday.

Well done also to our boys’ and girls’ 6th class basketball teams that played really well in the Kildare Cumann na mBunscoil Basketball blitz in St. Patrick’s National School in Newbridge last Thursday and Friday.

Our 5th and 6th class girls will take part in the FAI 5 a side soccer tournament this Tuesday in Greystones.

Reminder: First Penance for First Holy communion Children will take place in St. Nicholas of Myra Church on Tuesday 16th April at 7pm.

Our 5th and 6th class children will take part in a run with David Gillick (former Irish Olympian) in Ballymore Eustace GAA pitch on Thursday 18th April as part of their Marathon Kids programme.

We are taking part in the ‘My Shoes’ campaign again this year. If you have any runners or canvas type shoes that no longer fit you or your child but are good enough to be re-worn please tie them together and drop them into the school office. These shoes will be sent to children in African townships who currently walk barefoot to school.
