Newsletter March 10th 2025
School will be closed next Monday March 17th for St. Patrick’s Day. We will close at 12 on Friday next March 14th for staff Bí Cinéalta inservice.
Please ensure your child has their uniform on each day apart from PE days and has a coat as we will be going out for break times unless rain is torrential. Children from 1st to 6th will be able to play on the pitches from tomorrow but they must have a change of trousers and a change of footwear.
Drama takes place on Wednesday and Thursday for Solas, Junior Infants, 2nd 5th and 6th classes.
Our children and school community will celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge over the next two weeks. We would encourage parents to try to speak some Irish with your children at home. “Is Féidir Linn” is a wonderful resource with some suggestions and resources that can be used. All classes will take part in a ceolchoirm and a céilí for Seachtain na Gaeilge next week.
- There will be girl’s Gaelic football training after school each Monday for girls in 4th, 5th and 6th class. It will finish at 3.45 each Monday.
- Boy’s Gaelic training will take place each Tuesday after school for boys in 4th, 5thand 6th It will end at 3.45 each Tuesday.
- There will be no hurling training this Wednesday with Mr. Byrne as there is a staff meeting after school. There is a mixed hurling blitz for boys and girls in 5th and 6th classes this Thursday in Blessington. We will be leaving the school at 10am and the blitz will end just after 12. Please contact the school office if you are available to drive.
- An RSE talk will be facilitated by Accord this Wednesday for children in 5th and 6th class and for girls in 4th This costs €6 and is included as part of the school charges. Consent forms will be given to all children involved tomorrow and must be returned before children can take part.
- U10 football training takes place each Thursday ending at 3.45.
- Thanks to everyone for filling out the questionnaires to help us work towards our Bí Cinéalta Policy. The results are attached to this newsletter and will be used to help us to compile a draft Bí Cineálta Policy.

Dunlavin juvenile training for boys and girls resumes on Monday 10th at 6:30 PM in St Kevin’s Community College.
We can't wait to welcome all the children back and want to invite children who are new to GAA or wish to give it a try to come along on Monday to give it a go.
All ages are very welcome.
Football Matches for U7/U9/U11 will begin on Saturday, 15th March.
