Newsletter June 22

Many thanks to all the parents who came into the school last week to pick up books, copies, end of year reports etc. Thanks to them for dropping back all book rentals and library books. There are still a few reports, copies , artwork etc to be collected and the school will be open this Monday June 22 from 10am to 12 noon to facilitate collection of those. Please call to the office to pick up these items.

Our sincere thanks again to all families for co-operating so well with the home schooling over the past months. We really hope that we can reopen the school as normal for the start of the next school year. We intend opening on Thursday August 27 for all classes from Junior Infants to 6th class and on Friday August 28th for Solas. Home schooling is now finished!

We will not issue a newsletter next week but will issue one once the staffing situation has been finalised and we will inform you of the class teachers for the coming year. We hope to be able to inform you about that on Monday July 6th.

The school will not be open to visitors on Monday next June 29.

We will be holding a graduation picnic for 6th class in the near future. Parents will be informed when the date has been set. The children should bring a picnic rug and treats and wear their white school polo shirt. They should also bring a marker. This event will take place at the rear of the school and is for children only. We would ask parents to wait at the front of the school and at a designated time we will clap the class out.

The meeting for the new Junior Infants and parent will take place at on Saturday July 11. We invite the boys at 11am and the girls at 11:30am.

Refunds for the Camp Active Easter Camp can be collected from Michael Moran’s classroom from 11-11:30am this Monday June 22. If you are unable to attend then we will refund the costs in September.

A meeting of the school Board of Management will take place on Monday next June 29 at 7pm in the school.
