We say goodbye to our 6th classes this Friday. They will be clapped out at 2.40 on Friday afternoon. Parents, siblings etc. are invited to attend but social distancing and Covid etiquette must be observed.

Our sports day was a huge success on Friday. A huge thank you to all the staff involved. We would like to thank our parents’ association for sponsoring an ice cream van for the day. This money comes from the €20 donation paid by families as part of school fees.

Environmentalist Patrick Hunt will take classes from 2nd to 6th on Tuesday and Wednesday on a nature trail to the Blessed well. The cost of this is also covered by the Parents’ Association.

Vision screening for infants takes place this Tuesday for Junior Infants.

A Wellness Day will take place this Friday for the whole school. Many thanks to Ms. Kiely, Ms. Dunne and the Student Council for organising it.

Just a reminder that school will finish for all students apart from 6th class on Wednesday 30th June at 12 noon. It will reopen on Monday August 30th.

Meetings for our incoming Junior Infants will take place on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

As we move to the last week in school we would like to sincerely thank everyone for their, help, support and understanding in relation to the Covid 19 protocols which we have had to observe. Can we also remind you to please remember that:

  • If children are displaying any symptoms of Covid 19 they should restrict their movements and self -isolate until their doctor has been contacted.
  • Children must remain at home if they are identified as a close contact of a confirmed case of Covid-19, if they live with someone with symptoms of the virus or if they have recently travelled outside Ireland.
  • Please avoid congregating at or near the school and wear a mask if you cannot keep 2m apart in line with public health guidelines.

Hurling takes place on Monday this week for 3rd and 4th classes. If children have their own hurls and helmets they can bring those in with them.

Blessington Book store will be stocking our books and will provide free delivery or free covers. Books will also be available in general book stores.

We have a few copies of “The Secret Labyrinth” by Florence Grace still available for purchase. All proceeds go to Solas.
