NEWSLETTER – Sunday 18th June 2023
- A graduation Mass for 6th class will take place on Thursday 22nd June at 7p.m. and 6th class will be clapped out on Friday 23rd June at 2.40 on their last day.
- The school will close tomorrow Monday June 19th at 12 noon to facilitate in-service training in the new primary curriculum. The buses will run at this time
- Eileen Kelly (local author) read her books for 1st and 2nd classes last Friday. The books are available from Centra or Whelan’s pharmacy.
- The last swimming lesson for 2nd/3rd and Solas will take place this Wednesday.
- We are currently organising music lessons for next year. If anyone new is interested, please contact the school office on 045401495. This year lessons cost €210 but we have been informed that next year they will cost €280. Instruments offered are piano, guitar and flute. Current students will be contacted by Christine this week to see if they wish to continue for the coming year.
- Reminder if children are wearing shorts with their uniform they should be grey in classes 1st-6th and navy on PE days and navy in Junior and Senior Infants. They are available from The Back to School Shop on Cutlery Road, in Newbridge.
- We will hold a uniform swap on Tuesday June 27th at 1.30 in the school hall. If you want to donate old uniforms or look for uniforms for the coming year you would be very welcome.
- Junior infants will receive their immunisations from the HSE on Monday morning.
- We have two old style teachers’ desks available. If anyone is interested in taking them, please contact the school office.
- Stage Door and More are holding a summer drama camp in the school from 3-7 July. Please contact Kathleen on 0860583194 for more details.
- We will be keeping the atlases and dictionaries belonging to the senior classes and they will be passed to their class teacher for next year. We would be very grateful if any of our 6th class children wished to denote any of these items to the school. If your you wish to do this please let Mr.Byrne know.
