*First Penance takes place this Tuesday 14th June at 7pm in St. Nicholas of Myra Church.

*First Holy Communion takes place next Saturday 18th June at 11am. Children and their families and relatives are invited back to the school for refreshments afterwards.

*We would ask parents of children in first class to bring in some buns/cakes etc. for after communion refreshments. These can be dropped to the school office on Friday.

*We have a meeting for our incoming junior infants and their parents on Wednesday next at 2pm.

*Our junior infants are due to get their immunisations this Monday

*1st and 2nd classes travel to Let’s Go in Kilcullen on their school tour on Wednesday, Solas travel to Rathwood on Tuesday and 5th class travel to Belfast on their tour on Friday.

*Reminder if children are wearing shorts with their uniform they should be grey in classes 1st-6th and navy in Junior and Senior Infants.

*We are currently organising music lessons for next year. If anyone new is interested, please contact the school office on 045401495. This year lessons cost €210 (we don’t have cost for next year yet)

Instruments offered are piano, guitar and flute.

*We have been asked to close the school on Thursday next 16th June at 12 noon to facilitate inservice training for the Primary language Curriculum.

*Booklists for next year along with a schedule of fees will be sent home with the children on Friday next.

The 38th Festival is taking place in person from Friday 17th June to Sunday 19th June and the Dunlavin Arts Festival is delighted to welcome Mary Coughlan for a one-night performance in the heart of Dunlavin on Sunday 19th June at 8pml. The concert will be held in St Nicholas of Myra Church at 8 pm

  • Thanks to everyone for your continued support in relation to Covid guidelines. Just to remind you that:
  1. Children and staff are to remain at home if symptomatic.
  2. Hand hygiene is to continue and parents should speak to their children about its importance.
  3. Face coverings are no longer mandatory for staff or pupils but may be worn if the individual wishes to do so.
  4. The wearing of masks on school transport is advised but not mandatory.
  5. Antigen tests may still be accessed by parents by phone at 1800110055 or online at

(Please note: participation in antigen testing is on a voluntary basis. Children who are well and not symptomatic should continue to attend school even if participating in antigen testing) Roll no. 17810G
