NEWSLETTER – Monday 12th February 2024
- We are appealing to parents to respect the parking zones, bus and drop zones outside the school. Parking is not permitted in the drop off zone at the green in the mornings. Parents should not use the bus parking zone to drop children in the mornings 8.45am-9.15am or to pick up in the evening. Please be careful at the zebra crossing as not all motorists respect that crossing.
- Reminder that school will be closed for mid-term break on Thursday and Friday next Feb 15th and 16th.
- Trocaire boxes were distributed to families last week and can be returned to the school after Easter.
- Lent begins this Wednesday, Ash Wednesday. Ashes will be distributed in classes so please let us know if you do not want your child to take part.
- We would like to remind all parents that the school and its grounds are a strictly no smoking/vaping area.
- Our thanks to the children in 6th class and to Fr. Douglas and Orna in the Parish office on the raising of €60 for Solas through the sale of St. Brigid’s crosses.
- Letters with offers for Junior Infants for the coming year will be posted this Wednesday. Acceptance notes must be returned by February 28th.
- We would like to appeal to all parents to make sure their children arrive for school on time each morning. School starts at 9am for all classes. If a child is absent for any reason a note should be given to their class teacher so this can be recorded on our attendance system. Once a child is absent for 20 days we are obliged to make a referral to the TESS which is run by Túsla. When a child reaches 20 days parents will be notified.
- Buddy reading will continue for 1st/2nd and 5th/6th classes for the next two weeks.
- The Parents’ Association meet this Monday in the school at 8pm. All are welcome.
- The Board of Management meet this Tuesday night at 8.30pm.
