• We would ask that children do not exchange Christmas gifts or cards in school as this can cause upset to those not included.
• Santa will visit the school on Dec 18^th.
• Thank you to all who produced some fabulous Christmas tree decorations for the Green Schools Competition. They have been sent to Wicklow Co. Council for the next stage of the competition.
• During cold and wet weather we would ask that all children bring coats/hats/gloves to school and please make sure they have your child’s name on them. If at all possible children will be going outside at breaktimes.
• Our Carol Service and nativity play with Junior Infants, 1^st, 3^rd and 5^th classes will take place in St. Nicholas of Myra church on Wednesday Dec 11^th at 7pm. Children are asked to wear their tracksuit bottoms and white polo shirt. If they have a Santa hat they can also wear that. We would ask children to be in the church at 6.50pm.
• Reminder that school will close for Christmas holidays on Friday 20^th December at 12 noon and reopen on Monday January 6^th.
• Applications for Junior Infants/Solas for 2025/26 will be accepted from January 1^st to February 1^st Application forms can be found on our school website under the information tab or by contacting the school office on 045401495. Please note that children must be at least 4years of age by March 31^st 2025 as per our enrolment policy.
• We have been asked to close on Wednesday January 22nd to facilitate a training day in the New Maths Curriculum for all our teachers.
• We will hold a Christmas jumper/non uniform day on Wednesday, December 18^th. We would ask that all children bring in a small donation in aid of our local St. Vincent de Paul.
• The school choir will sing with the Ballymore Brass band in St. Nicholas of Myra Church on December 22nd at 7pm. They will also sing at the 10am Christmas Day Mass.
• Some children from 4^th/5^th/6^th classes will travel to the National Arena Blanchardstown this Wednesday December 11^th for a rehearsal for Peace Proms which will take place in the RDS on February 1^st. The rehearsal finishes at 2pm so we estimate that the bus will be back in Dunlavin around 3.45pm.
