NEWSLETTER – Monday 2nd December 2019

Many thanks for your support of our school Book Fair which resulted in sales of €3,000 which will give us access to over €1800 worth of books for our school libraries. Special thanks to Michael Moran and the children from 6th class for looking after this.

For the sake of the safety of our children who cross the road each day can parents and guardians who drive children to school please only park in designated areas. Please do not park on double yellow lines or in the bus bay. Children should only get in or out of cars when the car is parked. We are going to take note of the cars that do not follow these guidelines and report to Gardai. There are plenty of parking spaces available on the road beside the green and on the road leading to the church.

The proposed school choir trip to the National Concert Hall has been booked for January 21st 2020. The RTE Symphony Orchestra will perform a selection of classical and music favourites.

Thanks for returning the Digital Survey forms last week. We will give feedback on the results next week.

Next Friday we are holding a Non Uniform day in aid of a deserving local cause. Your support would be very much appreciated.

The school choir will sing at the Market House at 6pm for the switching on of the town Christmas lights on Saturday December 7th. A mulled wine and mince pies reception takes place afterwards.

Our annual Carol Service takes place on Thursday December 12th at 7pm in the church. It will feature Junior Infants, 1st, 3rd and 5th classes and our Brass Ensemble. The children from 1st class will present the Nativity Story.

Santa will arrive on Monday December 16th and not December 19th as previously stated.

The school choir will travel to Ballymore Eustace on Tuesday December 17th for the annual Carol Service. They will also sing at the 10am Mass on Christmas Day.

Grangecon NS Parents Association invite parents to an Internet Safety Training Session tonight from 7.30pm–9.30pm in Grangecon Church Hall. This is for parents of Primary School children and will cover all aspects of internet safety and cyber bullying.
