Newsletter December 14th

We would like to thank the entire school community for their continued efforts with regard to social distancing and Covid protocols.

If your child is unwell, we would kindly ask that you don’t send them to school but rather contact your GP for advice.

Our Child Safe Guarding Statement and Our Child Protection Policy were reviewed and ratified at our Board of Management Meeting last Monday night. They can be viewed on our school website or on request from the school office.

There was a huge number of entries for our Christmas Decoration competition. Well done to all the children and to Ms. Dunne and Mrs. Raleigh for their organisation. Prizes will be awarded in due course. Please see our website for photos.

Reindeer food is on sale in classes this week for €1. Many thanks to Little Brew and Whelan’s Pharmacy for helping with the sales. All proceeds will go to Solas.

Many thanks to everyone for their support for our Christmas jumper/ Christmas hat day last Friday in aid of Laura Lynn. Over €600 was raised. Representatives from Laura Lynn have sent on their sincere gratitude.

Scoil Niocláis Naofa are looking for applications for a bus escort. Applicants must have their own transport and be available to accompany children to school from their homes on the bus and on the return journey each evening. Anyone interested should contact Michael Moran before next Friday.

We would like to remind parents and children that we don’t allow the exchanging of Christmas cards or presents in school to avoid children being left out.

This is a reading week so no written homework will be issued.

This year, in place of our normal Giving Tree for Saint Vincent de Paul, we will hold a no uniform day on Tuesday 22nd.

Santa will arrive in Scoil Niocláis Naofa on Thursday at a social distance. Our thanks to Mick Murtagh, Anne Marie Mullen and the Parent’s Association for ensuring he will arrive in one piece.

Reminder that we will close for Christmas Holidays on Tuesday December 22nd at 12.00.

Dunlavin Gaa are holding a Christmas Raffle. Tickets are on sale from Tinkler’s Hardware and from club members.
