*We would like to welcome everyone back after the Easter break and wish everyone well for the final term in this school year.
* We would like to express our sympathy to Sinead Keogh (our 5th class teacher) and her family on the death of her father, Michael, over the Easter holidays. May he rest in peace.
*All classes from 1st to 6th will complete standardised tests in both English and Maths during the week of May 12th -16th.
*The Service of Light for Confirmation candidates takes place on Tuesday May 6th at 8 o clock in the Church. Children can wear their own clothes and should bring their baptismal candle (or any candle)
*Confirmation will take place on Friday May 9th at 11am in St. Nicholas of Myra Church. The school will close at 12 for all other children to facilitate refreshments for Confirmation children and their families.
*Our girls’ football team are due to have a game this Wednesday v Athgarvan in Athgarvan, time to be confirmed. Please contact the school office if you are available to drive.
*Our Senior Boys’ football team play Ballyshannon this Tuesday in Dunlavin GAA Club at 12.30.
*Our U10 footballers have a match against Ballycane in Dunlavin at 11.30 on Thursday.
*Our 5th and 6th girls’ team will play in a football blitz in Hollywood this Thursday at 11am. We will leave the school at 10.30 and would be grateful if anyone available to drive would contact the school office.
*Children from 1st, 3rd and 5th classes will start lessons from the Stay Safe Programme on May 6th.
* Swimming will start on Wednesday April 30th for Solas Senior, 2nd and 3rd classes. The cost is €60 for the six weeks and must be paid to the class teacher before lessons start. Children are asked to bring goggles and armbands unless they are very competent swimmers.
*The Parents Association are holding a meeting on Thursday May 1st at 8pm. All are welcome.
