Newsletter April 26th

We would like to thank you all for adhering to government protocols with regard to Covid 19 and remind you that:

  • If children are displaying any symptoms of Covid 19 they should restrict their movements and self -isolate until their doctor has been contacted.
  • Children must remain at home if they are identified as a close contact of a confirmed case of Covid-19, if they live with someone with symptoms of the virus or if they have recently travelled outside Ireland.
  • Please avoid congregating at or near the school and wear a mask if you cannot keep 2m apart in line with public health guidelines.

Details of Parent Teacher meetings by phone have been sent out. They will take place between tomorrow Monday April 26th and Tuesday May 4th. Please check your child’s diary/folder for more precise times of the calls.

1st/3rd and 5th classes will have Stay Safe Lessons beginning the week of May 4th. All other classes will be conducting RSE lessons during the course of that week.

As the weather starts to get a bit better, children are more inclined to take off jumpers etc. at break times. Please ensure that each item of clothing has your child’s name on it as they can get mislaid.

The school will not be contactable by phone this week from 2pm onwards as teachers conduct Parent Teacher Meetings. If you need to contact us at this time, please do so by email at

Our school football leagues are underway for 3rd/4th classes and 5th/6th classes.

Drama takes place on Wednesday and Thursday for Solas, Junior Infants, Senior Infants, 5th and 6th classes.

Gaelic football is on Tuesdays for Junior Infants, Senior Infants, 5th and 6th classes.

Hurling begins takes place on Tuesday this week for 3rd and 4th classes. If children have their own hurls and helmets they can bring those in with them.

There will be no basketball coaching this week.

We still have outstanding school fees and will be in contact with parents. If anyone has difficulties, please contact Mr. Moran in confidence.

We are looking for a balance bike for Solas if anybody has one that they are finished with.
