NEWSLETTER – Monday 7th October 2019

The Board of Management will meet on Tuesday week October 15th at 8.30pm.

The AGM of the Parents Association will take place on Wednesday October 16th at 7.30pm. We will also elect 2 parents, one a father and one a mother to the next school Board of Management and we hope that anyone interested will attend on the night.

Music Generation Wicklow have informed us that flute/tin whistle teacher, James Mahon, will be unable to take classes until after the mid-term break. As a result we will refund anyone who has paid for these lessons and will let you know if and when he starts.

Student teacher Brenda Smullen will commence a 4 week block of teaching practice on Monday next October 14th in our Senior Infants class.

The annual schools cross country races take place in Valleymount on Thursday week October 17th. Four boys and four girls from each class from 1st to 6th will be chosen to represent the school. Children will travel by coach to the event.

Dunlavin Fire Brigade will call to the school this coming Thursday and will brief all classes on Fire Safety and give the children an opportunity to view their fire engine.

A boys football blitz for senior classes takes place this Friday at 11am at the GAA pitch

Our senior hurlers have qualified for the Kildare semi-final and will play Rathdangan this week.

The U11 boys football team play Kilberry at home on Wednesday and victory will see the team progress to the Kildare semi-final which is likely to be played this coming Friday.

First Penance will take place on Thursday April 2nd at 7pm in the church.

Our annual Carol Service which features Junior Infants, 1st, 3rd and 5th classes has been fixed to take place on Thursday December 12th at 7pm in the church.

Westside Community Games AGM takes place on Thursday next October 10th at 8.30pm in Scoil Nioclais Naofa. Please come along as people are needed to join the committee currently in place.

Dunlavin Community First Responders invite you to learn CPR or just to refresh your skills on Saturday next October 12th from 10am to 12 noon in the Imaal Hall as part of Heart Week. CPR saves lives. Register your interest on Facebook or 086-1937677.

Best of luck to the Dunlavin Intermediate team who play in the final of the Wicklow Intermediate Football Championship on Sunday next in Aughrim at 1.30pm.
