Newsletter September 12th

Newsletter September 12th 2022

  • Our Junior Infants have settled in well and will continue to go home at 12.00 until Friday. From Monday next 19th they will go home at 1.40.
  • If you are not receiving emails or have moved house or changed email or phone no. since last year, could you please contact the school office at 401495 to update your details.
  • As children have now settled well back into school we would ask that all parents remain at the front of the school and not gather on the school yard at the back. If for any reason you need to contact the class teacher, please do so by coming to the front door and ringing the bell.
  • We would ask all children to have a coat with them as they will be going out at breaktimes unless the rain is very heavy. We would also ask that any children that want to play football from 1st – 6th, bring a change of shoes and change of bottoms with them from now on as ground is getting mucky.
  • Please note that the text from Léigh sa Bhaile for homework is available on audio on the publishers website. Details are on the back of the book. This would be very helpful so the children can hear pronunciations.
  • Just a reminder not to send birthday invitations into school or to send in food for parties for classes as some children in the school have food allergies.
  • Gaelic football continues this week with Conor.
  • Drama, basketball and vocal music lessons in class begin this week. These lessons must be paid for and are included in the school fees. If payment is not received we will assume that you do not want your child to take part in the lessons. As always if anyone has any problems please contact Michael Moran in confidence.

Lesson costs are as follows:

Drama €35

Basketball €10

Vocal music lessons €15

  • All school fee payments must be paid in an envelope with the child’s name written on the outside and an indication of what the fees are covering also written on the outside of the envelope. Receipts will be issued for all payments. Payment can also be made online at the following BIC and IBAN. Please reference your child’s name if you are paying by this method.

Community Note

Dunlavin and District Forum are looking forward to a great day out on Sunday October 30th with Afternoon Tea in the Imaal Hall. Money raised will be to help us get prepared for our Christmas Lights and make sure we have a bright festive season in Dunlavin. We're looking for hostesses who can help us out by hosting a table for the day.

If you can get involved contact Aisling 0879627389 or Linda 0872178843.

We really appreciate your help in what we know is an uncertain time for us all.
